Chitin is a free adventure game made by an indie developer who goes by the name heinn. It's a first-person horror title that features PS1-style graphics and a bug theme. For this game, players have mysterious awaken from a car crash inside a dark and abandoned place filled with horrific larger-than-life bugs and insects.

Bugs everywhere

In Chitin, you awaken to a dark and mysterious place with no one around. As you slowly explore, you hear strange noises and stumble upon a nest of sorts filled with large insects and bugs. Armed with a revolver, you must defend yourself from these foul, hungry creatures while looking for a way out.

Along the way, you'll face all kinds of horrific abominations like flies, cockroaches, and centipedes, all mysteriously giant in size. Explore labyrinth-like areas, time your reloads, and find an exit or risk getting devoured. The gameplay is pretty short, though, clocking in under half an hour to completely finish the game.

Creepy crawlers

All in all, Chitin is one of the more creepy and disgusting horror games out there. It's a nightmare come to life for those who are not fond of bugs and insects, and players will surely get a proper fright. Too bad the whole experience is on the short side. Nevertheless, it's one worth having.
